Hi everyone.

I am looking to buy a RIB which I'll use for spearfishing & fishing trips and also for sailing with the family during the summer period.

I usually sail in the Atlantic ocean (Galicia - Norwest of Spain)

I'm thinking about the zar 47 because of the following:

- I need a boat that I can transport in a trailer and it must be small enough to be stored in my garage during the winter period.
- It seems to have lots of space in the hold/s lockers.
- It has a nice pronouced V shape hull which is a must for the atlantic waters.
- It also seems very roomy for leisure (good solarium and nice shade).

Does this model has any know problems? What is the power recomended?

How do you fit a fishfinder transducer in this boat, through the hull or a foldable one located in the stern?

Can anyone post some pictures of the inside of the front and bow hold / locker?

Tks!

There are several reasons:

Because of the internal space. In other brands, the engine is far inside of the boat which arrests you space. In the zar the engine is almost out of the boat, so the all length is usable.

Also on conventional ribs there is not a lot of room on the bow and this one seems very spaceous, at least in pictures (i've never seen one live).

Another motive is the storage. In Spain the law makes you carry a lot of safety and rescue gear. This model has such a big holds that allow you to keep all that gear inside the boat at all time, so at the end of the day it is more confortable.

Las reason is that the interior is all in fiberglass which is nice when you carry spearguns, fishing gear and sharp objects.

It seems a nice boat for spearfishing and also for day cruising with the family.

Also for this lenght (bellow 5 m) I couldn't find a better brand / model.

I agree with you about the characteristics of the ZAR47, the same evaluations which made me to choose it.
It has indeed a lot of internal space (you can even sleep inside the afterpeak - rear locker) but it's quite hard to describe how much space is available, I'll search if I can have some photos of the front/afterpeak.
Deep V hull, good for rough sea but which require a good amount of horse power.
Max is 115HP, recommended power is 90HP (my engine) and in your Atlantic sea I also suggest to mount not less than 90HP.

I have no info about a fishfinder transducer, probably it can be also mounted/glued inside hull. Other friends can be more specific about it.
Cheers.

Tks for the info, pictures would be very much welcome.

I've noticed that you mount a 90 hp Evinrude E-tec. How many knots can you achive with that engine? Do you recomend it? What fuel consumption do you have?

Which acessories do you have in your boat? Which ones do you consider more important?
